An ancient floating city, inspired by Ghardaïa city in the Algerian desert ! This is my entry to CGboost "city in the sky" challenge
Almost everything is procedural, from the dunes to the clouds, I used Blender's Geometry nodes for the foreground dunes, from generating them to the creation of the oasis', all driven by simple settings, for the background dunes, I used shader nodes with displacement, the clouds including the background ones are pure volumetric shaders with procedural textures, the big rock is sculpted then exploded using cell fracture, then added more sculpt details and assigned it a procedural material.
